Tracing our path from 2013 to today, as we expand our expertise in quality and security management.

Company History

Founded in 2013, Matthew Allport established Compliance Council working from his home office in Alexandria focusing primarily on Quality, Safety and Environmental Management Systems. In 2016, Jason O'Grady commenced working with Compliance Council, and from 2018 has been a co-owner and Director of the organisation.

Matthew and Jason have assembled a team of consultants and support staff members, operating from their head office in St Leonards, NSW, and have grown to a multidisciplinary consultancy firm offering services to a wide range of clients across Australia.

Compliance Council maintain a Business Management System that complies and is certified to the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management) and ISO 27001:2013 (Information Security Management).
This means we walk the walk, demonstrating to our clients the values and benefits of a management system and how it can drive improvement through compliance through their organisation. Links to our current certificates have been included below:

Our Team

A significant difference between Compliance Council and other management system consultancies is that our team comprises full-time, internally trained employees to ensure a consistent approach to the delivery of projects and the ability to build long-term business relationships with our clients as trusted advisors. We don't utilise contractors for any part of our delivery processes. Our core team includes:

Matthew Allport

Matthew Allport

Director and Principal Consultant

Matthew is Compliance Council’s founder and, as a Principal Consultant, leads the Information Security and TAO practices. Matthew has worked across many industries with a focus in recent years on engineering, defence, technology and transport.

Matthew’s approach to management system consulting is to build long-term relationships with clients, and to fulfil the role of a trusted advisor to them and their teams. Some of Matthew's more notable achievements at Compliance Council include establishing an AEO/TAO consulting practice in 2015, supporting organisations with achieving compliance with DEWR's RFFR program and assisting over 40 organisations with their ISO 27001 implementation journeys.

Outside of working with clients, Matthew is generally found around the Northern Beaches of Sydney running, sailing or golfing.

Jason O’Grady

Jason O’Grady

Director and Principal Consultant

Jason is a Director of Compliance Council, and Principal Consultant for our HSEQ team. Jason works across a broad scope of industries including construction, defence, manufacturing, and professional services.

Jason's primary skill set is understanding client requirements, the needs and expectations of their interested parties, and developing tailored HSEQ Management Systems including consideration of any management system applications or programs to which their organisation relies on. Some of the applications that Jason supported construction organisations with implementing include Procore, HammerTech, i2cx, 1BreadCrumb, Assignar, Monday.com and iAuditor.

Outside of work, Jason enjoys martial arts, motorsports, motorbike riding and spending time with his young family.

Adam Jones

Principal Consultant - CoR and HSEQ

Adam has an extensive background in Work, Health & Safety, Chain of Responsibility Management and Human Resources across Construction, Logistics, and FMCG. His previous roles have included state and national partners for national, multinational and global businesses.

Adam specialises in CoR, HR and HSEQ systems for high-risk, heavy industry clients. His aim for any client is to maximise their safety, environmental and quality compliance and align their business to their Industry HSEQ obligations.

Outside of work, Adam enjoys running, NRL and spending time with his wife and three children.

Wanda O’Grady

Wanda O’Grady

Principal Consultant - NDIS and HSEQ

Wanda leads our NDIS Business Unit. Wanda has worked within the healthcare industry for approximately 16 years as a registered nurse, in frontline, management and compliance roles.
After 10 years in the Acute Care Setting, Wanda transitioned into Aged Care, working in Management and Quality roles. Wanda has experience in paediatrics, mental health and high intensity supports.

Wanda is a certified lead auditor for NDIS and works actively with PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and SAI Global.

Caitlin Cross

Caitlin Cross

Operations Manager

Caitlin is Compliance Council’s Operations Manager. As Operations Manager, Caitlin looks after all things operations, finance and administration.

Prior to joining Compliance Council in October 2023, Caitlin was the Program Manager for a large contingent workforce program. Some of her key achievements during her tenure were growing the team and program to double its size, and maintaining an average customer satisfaction survey result of 99% as a result of her unwavering commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

When Caitlin’s not at work, you'll find her reading, spending time with her friends and family or playing with her Cavoodle, Dougie.

Angus Lennon

Angus Lennon

HSEQ Consultant

Angus is a specialist in HSEQ Management Systems tailored for the construction industry. With a background as a state HSEQ Advisor for a prominent global Civil Contractor, Angus possesses invaluable insights into the intricate demands of implementing effective management systems.

Prior to focusing on workplace health and safety (WHS), Angus accumulated a wealth of hands-on experience across various trades within the construction, landscaping, and arboriculture sectors.
His goal is to deliver HSEQ Management Systems that empower businesses to comprehend their HSEQ obligations while ensuring practicality and maximizing compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Outside of work Angus can generally be found training at his local Martial Arts Gym, on a bush walk or camping.
