ASSIGNAR

“We engaged Compliance Council in 2016 as our company was small in size, but large with ambition. We were in a rapid growth stage and we understood that client data security is a key concern when dealing with tech platforms.

We welcomed this challenge, our existing control measures were robust in nature – and the initial workshops conducted by Compliance Council reviewing the requirements of ISO 27001:2013 helped further instil confidence in ourselves that we are complying to international best practice when it comes to information security and data management.

Through the process of ISO 27001, we were able to document and formalise our procedures which helped lay a platform for our recruitment team to scale the business. Each new employee (now numbering over 50) was inducted and governed by the procedures found in our Information Security Management System. Having our policy and procedure removes ambiguity for all new and existing staff members when it comes to their role, responsibility and contribution to the information security management.

We would gladly recommend Compliance Council to any organisation seeking ISO 27001:2013 compliance. Their knowledge of requirements and how to communicate these to their clients, and then having the ability to document these in an easy-to-follow simplified format has made the compliance journey an enjoyable one.”

The Client

Assignar is a cloud-based compliance, asset and workforce management platform for self-perform and subcontractors. After an exhaustive search for an operations platform in 2014, our CEO, Sean McCreanor, developed Assignar with Co-founder and CTO, Marko Tomic, for Sean’s 250-person railway subcontracting business.

Today, Assignar is the number one platform for self-perform and subcontractors. With over 500 customers across Australia, New Zealand, USA and Canada, Assignar delivers its customers increased efficiency, transparency and significant management cost savings. Their integrated features enable contractors to seamlessly mobilise across projects whilst maximising productivity.

The Challenge

In a perfect storm that coincided with the rollout of the GDPR in Europe, multiple high-profile data breaches in Australia, Assignar’s clients were becoming increasingly conscious of their provider’s information security management.

Assignar understood these concerns and proactively approached Compliance Council to assist with the development and implementation of an Information Security Management System compliant to ISO 27001:2013.

Founders Sean McCreanor and Marko Tomic discussed the requirements with the Compliance Council and indicated that as the company was in such a rapid growth phase – time and resource management were paramount and the process needed to be as efficient as possible so the organisation can continue its growth momentum.

Our Solution

Compliance Council recommended our trademark Eight Step Process. As part of the process, Compliance Council conducted a series of workshops, developed the management system and its relevant documentation, conducted implementation and awareness activities to relevant stakeholders, and continued maintenance and oversight of the ISO 27001:2013 Information Security Management System.

The Outcome

Compliance Council was able to develop and implement a bespoke Information Security Management System compliant to ISO 27001:2013 within a matter of months.

The management system was customised to suit Assignar specifically using the information identified in the preliminary workshops conducted by our Senior Consultant team.

The Information Security Management System is still in use and continually reviewed, and its outcomes monitored by Assignar’s Co-founder and CTO – Marko Tomic.
