Success Stories

Green Homes

“Compliance Council understood what we needed to achieve to push GHA ahead of other building companies. The process was met with a collaborative effort guided by Matthew from the Compliance Council.  Matthews input, guidance and understanding of our business was key to the success of the project. Compliance Council has now become a key relationship partner with GHA as we move forward and grow our business across Australia”

Green Homes Australia was founded in 2006 to build more affordable, comfortable and efficient homes. Homes that don’t let money float up through the chimney, out the windows and doors and through the floor boards. Homes that cost no more than a conventional home to build and are much cheaper to run.

Green Homes Australia believe that every Australian, regardless of how wealthy or environmentally-minded they are, has the right to live in a home that helps lower their energy costs, without raising overheads during the design and construct process.

The Challenge

To assist Green Homes Australia with setting the benchmark for energy efficient homes in Australia and assist with achieving independent certification to an internationally recognised standard that sets Green Homes Australia apart from its competitors.

Our Solution

The Compliance Council reviewed the ISO library of Management System standards and made the recommendation that Green Homes Australia develop and implement a Management System that complies with ISO 50001:2011 – International Standard for Energy Management as well as obtain certification to ISO 9001:2008 – International Standard for Quality Management and AS/NZS 4801:2001 – Australian Standard for Safety Management.

To make use of the current technology available, all of the Management System forms were created and distributed on smartphones and tablets through an app named iAuditor. This apps allows the builders who are frequently working in remote areas to be able to complete the required compliance documentation without access to internet.

The Outcome

Green Homes Australia kicked off the project with the Compliance Council on the 8th of September and obtained certification to ISO 50001, ISO 9001, and AS/NZS 4801 through Best Practice Certification on the 24th of October 2014.

Green Homes Australia now have an independently audited process for ensuring that their homes are built using the best (and safest) techniques to ensure the homes are of the highest quality and energy efficiency.
